Today in History: 50 years ago, on this day in 1965, Ralph Nadar (consumer advocate) published a best seller entitled Unsafe at Any Speed about the dangers of cars and the way that they were manufactured. His book is said to have changed the auto industry and prompted the passage of the National Traffic and Safety Act and the Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1966 and seat belt laws in all 49 states, except New Hampshire!
It's almost Thanksgiving break... but you have a small homework assignment this weekend, due Monday: Read pages 72-79 and do questions: #1, 4, 5, and 6, it's on the three branches of government. Have a good weekend!
